The team at the Edgo Atrium Building (EAB) was delighted to be part of the latest webinar held by the Abdali Developers’ Association (ADA) recently.
The ADA currently comprises a mix of local, regional, and international developers based in Abdali and acts as a collective platform for members to network, exchange ideas, educate, and further promote their interests.
During the webinar, the ADA looked back at the recent booster shot campaign, which was held at the beginning of January at the EAB and the Abdali Boulevard. The campaign was an initiative led by the ADA, in-line with the government’s drive to increase the number of people in Amman receiving their Covid-19 vaccine or booster shot. Due to its success and higher than expected demand, the campaign period was extended by three full days at the EAB, with over 1,000 vaccines and booster shots administered during the period.
A key area for discussion at the webinar was real estate taxes, which followed an informative presentation by Saif Saleh, Senior Chief Accountant at Edgo. Some of the areas covered in the presentation were the tax calculation formula, estimation mechanisms, and exemptions; how objections and requests for revision can be submitted to the relevant authorities; and key milestones related to obtaining discounts and payment of penalties.
Those present discussed their experience of the real estate tax system and shared lessons they had learned through practical examples. Notable contributions to the discussion were made by Kawar Group, owners of the Keystone Building in Abdali, and by Societe Generale who have their Jordan headquarters in Abdali.
The next ADA webinar is due to take place in May and will look at several issues including how developers can unify their facility management services to create economies of scale.
